this second file, some sharpening was applied, wondering if it is too much?

Ray, lovely job on this tiny subject. Nice detail, and the emerald green BG is very nice. The sharpness on the second image looks just right on my monitor. I like the bit of blur on the twitchy tail. Nice work.

the second picture looks OK on my screen, The sharpen is not to strong. Nice BK, nice picture.

I like the raised tail and look-back pose. Sharpness in the second image looks very good. I might lower the midtones a bit and if it were mine, I might be tempted to remove the bright spots in the BG.

Nice job hand holding with those settings. Nice pose by your subject too. Sharpness on both look good to me, leave it up to personal preference.

Great pose, I'd make the wren a little warmer.
