I like the look-back pose and sharpness and could see this also as a vertical crop. Maybe a bit more saturation?

I am never sure about the crop, so I have tried a vertical and added a little saturation.

Ken, the crop and saturation improved the image. Good detail. I might even try some selective boost in contrast with a curves adjustment to make it pop a little more.

Nice looking bird. Both crops work for me, would depend on the mood I was in. The first shows some good habitat, the second, a nice study of the bird. John's repost gives it an ever so subtle boost.

Thanks for the repost it is subtle, but to my eyes certainly adds some zing.
