Can anyone tell me a good inexpensive place to stay near Nickerson beach?

Hey Allan,
As far as I know nothing close that will cost you less than 1 arm and 2 legs! PM Artie for some recommendations close (1/2 hour or so) or perhaps the LI contingent will chime in.

Check out hotels near the airport for cheaper room rates.
The closest airports in the area are the John F Kennedy International airport (JFK) located about 14 miles west of Jones Beach in New York, New York, the La Guardia airport (LGA) located approximately 23 miles northwest of Jones Beach in New York, New York, the Long Island Mac Arthur airport (ISP) located roughly 25 miles northeast of Jones Beach in Islip, New York, the Teterboro airport (TEB) located around 34 miles northwest of Jones Beach in Teterboro, New Jersey, and finally the Newark Liberty International airport (EWR) located about 35 miles west of Jones Beach in Newark, New Jersey.

Hard for us Long Islanders to chip in as we sleep in our own beds! But I would guess that the location would command high rates, Denise has good suggestions. There are places to stay North of there, off the Meadowbrook Parkway, but sure they are costly.

Hi Allan:

There are many Motels near Hofstra University in Garden City. There is a Holiday Inn, Marriott and a Hampton Inn. They are all near Meadowbrook Parkway and maybe 15 -20 minutes from Nickerson Beach. Just head South on the Meadowbrook and get off onto the Loop Parkway. Take Loop till the end and veer right onto Lido Blvd. Nickerson is about a 1/2 mile down on the left.

When do you plan on going?

Bob

No definite plans Bob. When do you think are the best times of the year to shoot?

Thanks for that information.

:) So true. I lived in Babylon growing up but all relatives are long gone.
