Spiders give me more trouble than anything else and have fewer keepers, I was sort of happy with this one but feel that much more can be done ... a start !! Any advice from spider experts !!!

Nice image Al, its a Mabel Orchard Spider, I've never seen one before but what lovely colors...very sharp and love the way the web shows up..TFS

Alfred, what's not to like here? Good DOF and a neat way to show the web...I really like it! The spider is very interesting to look at and even the OOF areas on the legs are very minimal. I agree it's a keeper!

Hey Alfred,
I see you went to ISO 1600.....so wouldn't push more there. I generally like to go to f29 on these but that greatly depends on the distance to the BG......as it goes black quickly! You don't mention flash so a reflector would get you up to f22 or so and then the flash gets you the rest of the way w/o looking too overdone.
I do think because of your angle you chose you are sharp enough as presented so this is just something to toy with in the future!
