Love the placement of the bird in the frame, the SH, and the killer sky. I did not get a single skimmer SILH! Great also that the bird was coming toward you despite the SW wind....

denise, Stong comp and SILH. Beautiful sky and shading. Artie, my goal now is to be able to tell what direction a SILH is turned and where the wind is from :D

Hey Steve, As it seems that you know, that can be hard to do at times. I am pretty sure that this bird was coming at Denise not heading away.... As far as where the wind is coming from, that should be pretty easy. Just stand with your face into the wind (or note which way the birds are facing or in which direction they are taking flight). The check your Crackerjack box compass. :)

Thanks Artie and Steve. I also got one with the wings up. Thanks to Artie for pointing out the shot to me.:)

Sweet image for all the reasons mentioned. I love the bold orange color.
