Taken this morning at Fairchild Tropical Garden, in the first 10 minutes of going into the soup, that's how long it takes me before I look for bench in the shade and collapse until the sessions is over :)
Tripod, sitting in the ground. 80% of frame.

Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Lens (mm): 252 (Sigma 180 macro plus 1.4X)
ISO: 1000
Aperture: 5.6
Shutter: 1/400

Comments appreciated.

Hey Fabs, a unique take on the comp. Good point of focus and like the DOF. Great color combination.

Great comp, DOF and blend of colors! Towards the lower right there's a green spot or maybe it's a hole in the petal that I would clone over. It seem minor enough but my eye keeps getting dragged to it.

Very,very good colors and composition!
I minor detail is that I would've prefered all the stamens in focus.

Lovely combination of sharp stamens and soft petals in BG.The colors are wonderful.

agree with all the comments above about all of the image's qualities! WOW! really admire how you handled the color. I've been shooting a male Baltimore Oriole and just can NOT get that fluorescent orange right. Your color here is great!

I don't know if I love the colors or the comp more? Fantastic image - you really shot from the hip on this one. I don't think I've ever managed to find this comp before!

Beautiful, bold colors, and with the exception of the left one, the stamen look like they are floating in the image. Nicely seen.

Hi Fabs,
Interesting placement and very strong bold colors. I too may have preferred a touch more dof on the stamen....but my guess is that it would have introduced more unwanted focus in other areas.....so Id keep it as is!

Gosh, what lovely colors! I also like the lines--diagonal and vertical. I would crop it more, something like this, to focus on the stamens.
