I realise the tip of the tail of this Giant Kingfisher is behind part of the perch. I dont believe moving to my left would have solved the issue, but I would also not have a good angle of pose. Taken in the Pilanesberg nature reserve two weekends ago.

Very nice Stuart, tail not an issue for me. very nice BG too. I might crop a bit tighter to show details of the bird. great shot, TFS

Hey Stuart,
Nice complimentary colored BG for this one. Pose is nice on the bird too. I like the high vertical composition, the perch has enough interest to make it work for me.

I am a fan of this image, Stuart! Your composition is strong and the subject is a tough one. Congrats!

Very nice, Stuart. I like the pose, gorgeous bg, and composition. The tail is a minor issue. I think the comp would be even stronger if it had a little bit less on the bottom and a little more room on top.

Very nice pose and complimentary BG, with great head angle. Wish for the tail, not an image breaker. TFS.

What a bird! Great light and BKGR, perch just perfect. I might try a horizontal approach as well, but I like how you've composed here.
