I've used Apple products since 1981 and it's been a roller-coaster ride ever since. I particularly remember every 6 months of so when the Wall Street Journal and other rags would predict Apple's demise, and dates of demise past just like the end of the world predictions. Anyway read it here:

Al- the iPads are released tomorrow in Canada. I am not sure they are quite ready for prime-time when it comes to serious photography but I see a lot of potential for the future in this device. Still a very fun thing to have!

That is true and indication of changing times, Apple has enjoyed big revenue from the iphone, with more than 2/3 of its revenue coming from iPhone, iPod and itunes store, Apple is now classified as a mobile consumer electronics and entertainment company. Revenue from Mac computers and their market share has not changed much in the past decade. The iphone was probably the most revolutionary product of the decade.

Apple is all about loyalty, user interface. Its loyal fan following is legendary. Techs wise, there are better products around. The initial iphone didn't have even sms forwarding facility. The ipad seems to be a cool toy. I was told that it doesn't have print capability. This segment is going to evolve further.

Any one using an ipad here?

Cheers,

"The initial iphone didn't have even sms forwarding facility."

What's that? Did I miss out on something I don't know about or need? Probably! There are thousands of features on all my electronics I don't know about and don't miss. Still, my iPhone is pretty cool.

I've used Apple computers exclusively since 1979. When I'm forced to a peecee windoze machine at work, it is a dehumanizing experience. It's hard to believe that THAT operating system took over the world. What a shame.
