Taken in Southern Moremi, Botswana 2th April 2010.

Unfortunately the high water levels meant we were unable to get close, so this is quite a large crop!

EOS 1D MkIII

28-300mm at 105mm hand held from vehicle

F8, ISO 800, 1/320, EV +0.33

I know I should hve opened up to get a faster shutter speed, next time:)

one of your best animals in the environment images.... love it ,

only suggestion is small crop top to loose the white bit, and small bit from bottom..

well done Ken..

Hi Ken I like the clean edges all around and spacing for most, pano crop works just fine with a little extra room up front !!!

I like this very much Ken. Whether intentionally or not you have separated the image into thirds quite nicely which becomes very attractive to the eye. The leaping antelope in the middle enhances the interest. I wonder if you can extract more drama from the sky which is already quite nice but may have more detail and power in it. Of course, that could detract from the animals and you may not enjoy doing too much pp.

You mentioned the large crop but I noticed that you shot at 105mm, did you consider zooming to the 300mm mark?

Peter,

Thanks for your comment, if nothing else it is certainly my best running Red Lechwe to date.

Hilary

If I had zoomed closer I would not have got so many Lechwe in the picture , the crop was mostly sky and grass from top and bottom.

Do you think I need some more room on RHS, because I think I may have some.
