Hey Sandy,
Welcome to the forum!!! A classic! Very well composed and exposed! Did you use a split ND?...or was this an exposure blend? Any other specifics will just help others when trying these type of exposure challenges!
Very nicely done with a classic Yosemite scene!

Hi, Roman - no ND filters here, but bracketing and 3-exposure blend. Sorry, forgot to mention this.

agree with Roman - classic view and well exposed and blended, although I think it might work a bit better with a less harsh "transition" between the darker and lighter parts of the composition - in other words try and tone down the highlights just a teeny bit or lift the levels of the shaded area just a bit?

Hi Sandy, good advice by Roman and Morkel. Not much more to add except you framed the comp well...

Hi Sandy, love the image. Having been there in that light so many times and NEVER in the winter - brrrrrr - I really appreciate your sharing.

If mine, I would crop the bottom to just below the reflection perhaps including the 3 stones at the bottom of the reflection. I would remove all of the heavy snow at the bottom.

Hi Sandy

Love the composition as it is but like Morkel I find the vertical cliff face just a little too harsh. Apart from that, its beautiful..

Quite an exhilarating image, love the reflection in the water and the soaring cliff face. Not to sure about toning down the transition, would hate to see this image become at all 'muddy', so would need to be handled sensitively. I really like it as it is.

Sandy,

Welcome to Landscapes. Roman beat me too it but first thing I thought was "a classic view" of El Capitan. Nice work for the reasons mentioned. I agree with Jay on the crop suggestion.
