I may have a week to donate to working with oiled birds from the BP spill. Does anyone know who I should contact to get details and information.

There are several organizations that are registering volunteers. Audobon society is one of them: http://www.audubonaction.org/site/PageServer?pagename=aa_HowtoHelp. The issue is, you simply cannot go help clean up wildlife, you have to be trained before you are allowed to do hands-on volunteering. On the other hand, you can report to the organizations if you see affected wildlife. Getting a phone number for just that might be useful.

Roy, also take a look at the sticky above, which has the organizations in Florida involved as well.
