Sweet bird pops well against the darker BG, Mike. I might burn in the brighter branches in the BG a little. Looks very simulate to the Silvereyes we get in NZ/Australia.

Great shot. The background is a teeeny bit busy I think, but a beautiful bird that stands out anyway. Nice detail as well.

Looks like you used a flash..Good flash work. The bird has good detail and natural colours. The BG sems to have a bit of noise some NR will work a treat and blur the BG a touch more.

Thanks to all for the comments!

Dumay, no flash on this one. Just direct sunlight about 90 minutes after sunrise on a clear morning. Did not run any NR on the BG but you are right that it could use some. Kind of surprising at ISO 400 with exposure adjusted by +0.15 in ACR. Guess it's due to the BG being so dark relative to the bird.

Beautiful bird...and I love the great view of the olive dorsal patch! Perfect exposure, and pin sharp as posted. BG a bit busy as noted, especially distracting is the lightest one sticking out of the back. Too bad about the twig covering part of the wing.
