Captured at Viera Wetlands coming back from the Alli Farm. We were very fortunate to find the adults with the two colts, so precious. Mom gave him a love bog I think. I am yet to transfer the Farm images to my permanent drive, phew, maybe next week, since I have a very busy week-end, with some friends from out of town (you'll know later) and two Miami-Dade classes.
Hope you enjoy the Cranes!
Model: Canon EOS-1D Mark IV
Lens (mm): 600
ISO: 1000
Aperture: 6.3
Shutter: 1/1250
Hand held using my knee as support.
I later went to a smaller aperture, but this one worked well here.
Roughly 80% of frame.

Comments appreciated.

A nice parental moment Fabs, guess the chic can't help but know where to look with Mum's bill pointing. :D

I just wonder if it's a combination of ISO & USM that give the image a slight 'crunchyness', they just stand out a bit too much IMHO, or is it just an OLD pair of eyes? :)

Fabs, beautiful composition as always.

A lovely intimate moment Fabs. The presence of the adult body parts gives the scale that this kind of image requires.

I wonder if a slight CCW rotation is required to bring the band of sharpness to a horizontal position. This would also reduce the OOF foreground bottom left as well.

Cheers

Fabs, I like the DOF effect here, and your comp works well. The chick seems to be nicely framed between bill and leg of mom. Well captured.

An outstading behavior shot.
There's a slight feel of oversharpening, especially in the beaks area.

Very nice shot, very sharp.
Cloudy day worked to your advantage. TFS.

Crisp focus - nice interaction. Having the adult eye visible makes the image.

Thanks Fabs, a close call to get the shot with high ISO & then process, however it doesn't really detract from some nice interaction.
