I barely got this picture. When the Bluebird landed I focused on him immediately and pressed the shutter button. In the second frame he was flying away. Let me know what you think.

Agreed with the need to de-saturate a tad. I normally don't like center-crops but this one works well. I really like low-key shots and the dark BG and the rich colours really set it off. It's a great photo!

Congrats on the quick capture on this one Rodney. I really like the perch and the over the shoulder look but I agree that it needs a little desaturation.

Thanks for all of the comments. I have reprocessed the file. I set the saturation to -10. Let me know if it looks better.

Very nice. I monitor bluebirds regularly in my yard, and even though the satuation may have been adjusted by the photographer, I know that they can indeed have this much color, depending on the light and how it hits their feathers, as with a hummer's gorget. Great job showing off this beautiful bird.
