I posted this guy a little while back, and after reposting the previous image with all the great suggestions, here is a different angle, and processed using all your suggestions again. Hope I pass. Taken in Kruger last year Sept.

I really like the eyes, fur textures and angled light sculpting the face , Stuart. I might crop a sliver from above and right and clone the bright line off the muzzle. Blurring the BG more may also be an option. Had a little play along those lines then couldn't help trying a B&W version and colour popping the eyes:D. More OOB than wildlife

Steve, Tony, thanks a stack guys. Here is my repost as per Steve's suggestion he mailed me, and Tony's slightly tighter crop, and more of a blurred BG. What do you think?

Tony, your conversion rocks - great work.

Repost look s good, Stuart. Pale scratch on the muzzle still drags my eye.

Hi Stu

It is subtle, but I think there is just a tad more definition, but of course I would say that, LOL. You could give it another round in Curves just to see?

Blurring the BG worries me as this is something I never do as it's all in camera, however I do realise that people have different, acceptable routes/methods they use, so...

Steve.

V nice portrait. Prefer slightly original crop and BG. Contrast etc, like both. B&W also nice.
Tom
ps - note, another great shot from Kruger

Excellent portrait Stuart. Great pose by your subject with very good detail and color. I think this would also look good with a square or portrait crop.
