Mid afternoon capture at Merritt Island NWR a few weeks ago. There were several in the trail area named after them. They are very friendly and readily land on your head, camera and hands.

Nice pose but the angle is a little steep.
Processing wise, there is a bit of a halo below the bill and it looks like a cloning / blurring smudge on the perch about 1 inch up.

Sharp, with nice COMP but poor head angle and too contrasty. Was the perch in a fire?
Later and love, artie

Great image. Would like to see more detail on the perch if possible.

Hi,
Somehow I knew the "head angle police" would not let this go unnoticed! Appreciate it. Yes, there was a burn in that area.

Hi Jim,
Thanks, I think I see it now under the bill. Again, a sharp eye you have. I did remove a twig and I do see where the cloning overlaps the branch. Thanks for your input.

Thank you Marc,
The branch is burned, but in some of the other images I made of this scrub jay, the branch shows more detail. I haven't tried a fix yet, but would the best way to try lightening be the dodge method?
