With the Spoonbills flying in from all directions it kind of reminded me of Bosque Del Apache with the Sandhill Cranes arriving in November.....

hi ken - some of those whites in the neck area look like they might be blown.
Do you have your over exposure blinkies turned on??
Your histogram is also your friend on the camera LCD display.

Like the underwing details and the lovely pink hues.

Hi Lance...yes to blinkies and saw the histogram...tried to tone down the whites (don't know enough about the processing YET)...but this was just about full frame because he came right at me.... and I cropped a tiny bit from the right...very tiny. I was never this close to a Spoonbill and just loved the underwing detail and the soft almost transparent effect....

Hi Ken Nothing much you can do to recoup the highlights here Ken, post processing is not going to help Did capture and good wind position and its all sharp !!

... btw the little bit of clouds at the bottom sure look good !!!

Personally, I like to exposed these bird about 3/4 to the right. That is how I usually like to do it.
Agree, the whites are way over, not much you could do there.

Hi Ken,With the whites being mentioned all else is well handled. I like the wing position and your positioning within the frame. Agree with Al liking the clouds on the bottom...
