Shot this at sunrise at Bosque last month with MarkII and 500mmf4IS lens.
I cropped out mountains below that were in shadow leaving only the pink mountains and sky in the background.

Terrific action captured with fantastic colors. I just feel the whole image is very tight. Need some more negative space all around. Not just top & bottom as Artie suggested, but some in front of the birds would be nice also. Giving those cranes some room to fly into. The way presented you are practically touching the left and right sides of the frame with your subjects (feet/nose). Nicely done with the timing though.

I'm glad to see you posting here. I really like this image. You've got 3 Cranes all with nice wing positioons and seperation between the birds. The pink mountain bg makes the shot. The tightness doesn't bother me. I like it as is.

Nice composition with the angle of the birds creating a diagonal in the image.The soft colors in the background help the birds "pop" in the image. The bird in the center with its mouth open makes this image for me. This will make a very nice panoramic print. Good work.
