At sunset yesterday I was wandering around the creek behind our new house and loves the way the these back lit leaves looked. I know the shadow on the left side could be distracting, but the way the back lighting brings out the veins was interesting. CC always welcome :D

Sharp veins. Too bad that shadow is there. Otherwise, very interesting capture of the back of the leaf

Susan, you already brought up the main problem with this. Those shadows are big distractions. Having the tip of the leaf in shadow also hurts the image but you might be able to lighten that up in pp. The BG is a bit busy but that is something that should be easy to fix in pp. It would also be better if none of the leaf had been cut off. The light is nice so I'd try again for this shot but next time, if possible, try to move whatever is creating those shadows or find a similar leaf that doesn't have any shadows. Or maybe even remove the leaf and take the shot in a spot of your choosing.
