BG is white foam core. Shot indoors with natural window light and slight amount of fill flash. I have another version that's more of a pano crop with the bud tilted but I think I like this one better. Tomorrow I'll probably like the pano crop more. :)

Elegant simplicity, Ken. I like the texture and the line of the leaf. The high key BG works for me.

Ken, Very interesting composition and the white really sets this off nicely. I brought it into LR and tried a few different comps and thought that the possibilities were endless. I did like it with some off the bottom and right w/ a slight tilt to get the bud off the edge after cropping-but as you say tomorrow is always a different story. Nicely done.:)

Very zen of you, Ken! The first thing I thought of when I saw it was "that is one nice set up!" I agree with Denise on the comp - a little off the right and then take the bottom of the frame up just above where the darker slit is on the leaf would really solidify the comp even more. Just beautiful and oh so gracefully balanced!

Hi Ken, would only crop this from the bottom giving it more of a pano framing which would elongate the line of the leaf.

Hi Ken, Beautiful composition, though I think I'd prefer a slightly larger bud to better balance the leaf. Love the high-key BG. I agree with the others on doing more of a pano crop.

Ditto the off the bottom and right crop, but this is excellent Ken. Superb bg and very nice detail and lighting.

Thanks everyone for your comments. As Denise said, something this simple has endless possibilities when it comes to the composition. The hard part has been deciding which one will appeal to the biggest audience. :)

I love the simplicity and lines of this image. No comment about cropping as I'd have to see it. I like it as it is.
