Here's another composite photo from multi-flash set-up in my backyard last fall
Although i could have used the separate images, my intent was to show both underside wing details and top-side of the birds in one photo. Unlike HB's at feeders, the songbirds can approach from any angle and you can't take the photo's as they back away from the perch. A small feeder had been placed just below and in-front of the perch.

I love this unique offering, especially the hanging feet and the head set against the far wing of the incoming bird. The two bird combo is a killer. What was the BKGR?

A great lesson for folks is that lots of flash only reduces a shadow; it does not eliminate it. The top bird looks a tad oversharpned.

Terrific shot! The flash work is excellent and the two birds make it doubly good! The compliment each other very nicely. I would add a bit more canvas on the LHS because that is the direction that both birds are heading/facing.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.
Artie - the bkgd was print of an intentionally blurred forest scene
