From my April trip to Gatorland. This bird was sitting in a tree preening, but as he concluded, I prepared for takeoff.

Very good pose, angle and sharpness. I would only lighten the areas on the underside of the bird that are not sunlit.

Thanks, Axel. How would you do that? I want to try it.

Thanks, Axel. How would you do that? I want to try it.

I would do it in Viveza by selecting some control points to even out the lighting a bit. Alternatively, you could just select the dark parts and increase the midtones to 1.1 or so.

Grace, Beautiful pose and sharpness. Agree w/ lightening the underside a touch and maybe lighten the BG just a tiny bit. Looks like you guys did well in Florida. Wish I was staying and could have met up with you. Excellent underwing details.:)

Agree with above that this is a well done image.
Love the colors, the angle of the neck, and detail of feathers on the neck. The wings are in a great position and show off the sheerness of the feathers.
Also agree that a little lightening on the underside would be good.

Many comments but wanted to add mine so that you would know that I liked the photo very much.
Beautiful bird. Never seen one in person.
