For this one I was considering the stem position, DOF and the veins position, but was not able to get all these as wanted. If all the veins were leading to corners then I did not like the stem position/angle, or if those two were as I liked then DOF was not as I wanted. Finally I've sacrificed the veins position for DOF and stem position. Right or wrong?

I think you made a perfect choice, Ovidiu (and I see you are now a member! YEAH!) Clematis are so much fun to photograph because there are so many different things to focus on and you're right - you do often have to make choices. I think the stem position is very nice - it's nicely in focus and really leads your eye into the greens of the veins.

I like the composition choice and the DOF. Nicely presented.

Hi Ovidiu....I like this alot as presented. The green stem is very strong for me. Leads my eye right into the color. Nice work!

Hi Ovidiu, The way you framed the composition is excellent. Sharpness throughout with the stem in a great position. I felt the image could use a boost in color to add impact. I also burned the corners a bit to even out lighting. It's subtle but I feel it adds a bit to an already well handled image...

The color boost certainly added impact to the image. I like the repost. Thank you!

Lovely image. I think you made the right decisiion in balancing the many factors involved. I like the hairs on the stem, the radiating petals with frilly edges, and especially--seeing hints of more between the petals. The repost improves an already great image.
