Love the black BG and love the f/32 (hanging around Roman you know...) . The lighting on the flower looks good. I am just a little bothered by not being able to see a stem.

No problem here with the absence of the stem.
Beautiful image. The depth of focus is excellent.
Perhaps there's something to be gained by narrowing the width on one or both sides.

Hi Nicolas,
For me this one appears flashed. The likely culprit is not enough ambient light....so going down to 1/60 sec. would have allowed for a softer look. You may also try a reflector.....just to add some bounce light back to the LR side of the flower. Just a few ideas to try out next time.

I agree with Roman - I feel the flash on the top petal (or should I say shadow) takes away from the natural look. I'd also see about selectively bringing up the bottom right flower - it really feels lost in comparison with the others. Great detail, though and excellent job on the yellows. They feel very natural!

I agree with Jules' agreement with Roman. :) A square crop might also helps but it's not a deal breaker.

Hi Nick....Nice bg and good details. i would suggest you try a simpler composition! just my opinion!
