Hi Guys,

Here's one from when the sun was still shining...
Unfortunately it is bitter cold over here and ther's no nice insects around to shoot..

I really like this species of flies because of their pointy nose!

Hi Jeroen,
Very cold here in the UK too, so it's nice to see an image from warmer months. Cracking shot it is too. No nits at all really from me, the fly is a nice size in the frame, bitingly sharp and the image has an eye-catching colour pallette. Very nice.

Great sharpness in the compound eye, the background is wonderful, and the angle of the body to the camera is also very good. I am, however, distracted by the lower left-hand corner. The details in the flower are fighting the details in insect for my attention. That should be rectified fairly easily with some cropping.

Insect is way over the top !!!!! Fantastic detail Would agree with David on tightening the lower left corner

.......................btw we are also freezing here ..... the mercury dipped below fifty !!!!!!
