This flycatcher has long been a favourite of mine.
Taken at Bowra Station a 36000 acre property which in June will become Sanctuary owned by The Australian Wildlife Conservancy see http://www.australianwildlife.org/Bowra.aspx for further details. Hope you enjoy,

Rod:

sharp on the head, well exposed, nicely scaled perch. I might move him just a bit to the left in the frame.

Cheers

Good perch and BG, nice pose (with a perfect HA:)). I like the flared feathers at the shoulders. Light coming from the right gave a bit of shadow on the left side, but still OK. I do wish the tail would have been lowered more below the perch instead of just sticking out a wee bit. Overall quite lovely.

Thank you all for your comments much appreciated.
Daniel: That tail is a pity. The perch was part of a small dead tree about a metre high in this lagoon that had dried up somewhat. Had a few magic hours waiting for various species to come and drink at the remaining water. The Jacky Winters (four of them) all hawking around in the late light were the cream on the cake.
