Another juvenile Spoon landing on the trees mid boardwalk. They were quite active, a bunch of adults too. Flying between the snag tree and the other trees on the side, close to the back rookery. Can't wait to go back in May!

Model: Canon EOS-1D Mark IV
Lens (mm): 275mm (100-400L) hh, lens is ideal for the rookery.
ISO: 1000
Aperture: 5.6
Shutter: 1/1000

Wonderful, colours look great and I like the inclusion of the greenery to the right.

Sharp with excellent detail. Not crazy about the steep shooting angle.

Good colors and sharpness. I too like the slight bit of greenery to give it a place to land. Agree with Ofer on the shooting angle. TFS

Agree with the shooting angle. But love that wing position, slight bit of blur at the wingtips and sharpness everywhere else.

Thanks for sharing.

The soft light and pose make this one for me. I don't mind the relatively steep angle, just wish the bird were angled more toward you.

Beautiful soft light and great wing pose. I agree with Axel about the bird being angled a little more towards you.

I don't mind the shooting angle as much as I wish the head were just angled toward the viewer a bit more. I do like the dynamic capture.

I tend to agree with others about the shooting angle. I would also like to see the shutter speed increased to pic up more detail in the wings. These large birds have a slower wing beat and it should be within reason to expect more sharpness. A bit more green to the edge of the picture to indicate a where the bird is going.
