From my Longwood Gardens workshop with Denise......she pushed me to explore (OK, more like teased:p) my "softer" side. Canon 1D Mark lll with the Sigma 180mm macro at f5.6 for 1/200 sec hand held and ISO 400. No flash! I had to sit and recover after this one:D.
Will comment on wonderful images below when I return later this evening!

agreed! beautiful image. I especially like how you kept the details and still maintained some softness to it.

Very nice soft focus. How many beers will it take you to get to f2.8? :D

Hey Roman, you've gone to the dark side, nice comp and soft feel.

Hi all,
Thanks! I have to give Denise credit....for making me explore my dark side:D......as I am still a huge fan of f32! This is one of the strengths of our workshops......both perspectives!!!
Yes Doug.....sad but true.....I am exploring the "other" side.....Ken, ....no beer needed(although not a bad idea)...... the minimum f-stop on the Sigma lens is 3.5......and no amount of beer is getting me lower! I have been informed by a few elves......that 2.8 is a lie!!!!:D....to keep us f32 freaks puzzled!
Mike.....I haven't been turned yet!!! No flash and f5.6 is all my heart could take!!!.....I am intrigued by it.....I need a f32 fix soon!

See? I told you it wouldn't hurt! Gorgeous white-on-white image, Roman. Love the way the petals almost go abstract at the top as they swirl to the top of the frame. Just fantastic! I like where you chose to crop the top but I think you could also come halfway down to the curve and still have another lovely image.

Hi Roman, Nice to see you exploring the soft side! :D Beautiful curves and softness to this. Could probably take it a little lighter if you wanted. The comp is very nice as is, but I think you could also crop out the stem and let the petals carry the whole image. Just an idea to try if you want to.
