Was fortunate to find the Curlew at Ft Desoto on Friday and spent most of the day working with him this was my first time seeing this species and I was thrilled to get a few nice images.

40D, 500 f/4, 1/1250 at f/7.1, Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metered + 3/4, Raw, ISO 400, Tripod, Small crop and cloned out a few specular highlights

What's not to like here? Possibly a little more room on top? Nicely done and good specs.

Don, just love the light and warm colours here, and you have captured a wonderful posture with the upturned wings. Good low perspective too.

A gorgeous Curlew Don. I love the wings up pose and the light, the exposure, sharpness and details. Very very nice! If you did as well with the other subjects of the day, we are in for a treat!

Cheers!
