Over the week-end I rambled around Wales in glorious sunshine and whilst in the Brecon Beacons NP, I spent some time trying to photograph Chaffinches landing at a feeder.

Pano crop, selectively sharpened face at .2/500. Eye doctor work. Lightened face only. Much better?

All as per Digital Basics. There is a great section in Alan Murphy's Songbird Set-Up Guide on how to get those feeders birds in flight.

I like the repost. Since the head is basically the only sharp area here, it's important that it shows well. It's amazing that just having the face sharp carries the rest of the subject and makes this composition work so well.
