An endemic snake to Sri Lanka, this young one spent more than three days on the same tree while I was in Sinharaja Forest. Shot as it yawned and arranged its fangs before starting the evening hunt, in very low light.

Canon 1D MkIV, Canon 300 f/2.8, 1/80 @ f/4.5, ISO 1000, fill flash.

Very cool perspective of a critter I would rather not encounter :D. Sharp where it needs to be. May try blurring the leaf and stalk right behind the viper a bit. F2.8 my have achieved that for you. TFS

Yep, not a critter I wouls want to walk into. I like the DOF effect on the viper, and well timed to capture the yawn.
