A little different. This was taken a couple mornings ago on Boundary Bay. 50D, 500mm at f/8, 1/400, EC+1 and ISO400.
I leveled, removed a few merges with the Bald Eagles and removed a few small birds from the edges. Smaller birds would be a mix of Black Bellied Plovers, Dunlin and probably Sandpipers.

A very well planned image, the layers and hazy golden light are a very attractive setting for a beautiful habitat. I like the fact that you didn't darken the tree line as not to get the attention away from your silhouetted birds.
Way to go!

Well thought out and executed image. Might take a little off the bottom to create more of a pano look.

Thank you both. Now that I look at it, I also like the idea of taking that bit of shiny water off the bottom.

Dave,

I always like to see people shoot some nice landscape shots with the big tele. ;)
Love it.

Thanks guys.
Troy, it's just too hard not to try.

Roy, you may recognize the spot, straight off the end of 72nd Street.
High tides, sunrise and lots of Dunlin and Western Sandpipers around on their way through make for some excellent opportunities. I wear a pair of rubber boots, old pants and get soaking wet getting really low on the flats, but there is tons of fresh air and lots of birds.
