Good looking bird and great eye contact !!! For this one tempted to stick a 2X converter and isolate the owl ! btw I usually shoot two frames to see if the flash reaches .. with the distance and going into hight speed sync I doubt there was much light on the bird !!! ... don't forget to leave comments for others Will be much appreciated and helpful to you !!! I couldn't find this guy when I was there. May even want to consider darkening the borders to help bring the owl out. he blends right in.

Greetings. Started working this and became mesmerized by the eyes.

Contrast and color adjustments (primarily curves, channel mixer, masking). Trying to add separation by contrast & color.
