These two Crimson Rosella chicks have come to the entrance of their tree-hollow at the beckoning calls of their parents. Two of thier siblings have already fledged and these two fledged about 30 minutes after this image was taken.

Canon EOS 3, Canon 100-400mm, ISO 100, Natural light plus fill-flash, 1/125 F11, Tower/Hide at 22 feet, Tripod.

Hi John

Love these Rosella's, you have captured that completely innocent look seen in nestling birds.

Hi John, With the dark shadows behind the heads, this looks more like flash as main light than flash as fill. EXp good, dof perfect. The big distraction for me is that both bird's beaks are nearly touching the edge of the nest cavity.

Later and love, artie

Cute little guys! Adding to Artie's comments, I find the catchlight in the eye of the upper bird a bit distracting.

Would add a small head turn by lower bird would help !!! As presented find it very appealing and a keeper in my book !!!

Very nice. I'd love to see it with a better head angle from the lower bird.
