Black-naped tern chasing another out of its nesting territory as its partner continues to stand guard in the background...

Super interaction, bit in this instance, I would have liked to have them separated. Also, I wish them to have been away from the FG rock. Both sharp, and overall well timed to have captured the moment.

I am fine with the juxtaposition but would lose the whole rock if that fits with your personal ethics. The interaction is captured amazingly well.

Jay:

I will take the opposite tack from Artie, and say that the sitting bird adds to the story of why the confrontation is going on, and the mass balances the action. There is no doubt, the flying interaction would stand on its own, without the rock or 3rd bird, final decision depends on what story you want to tell.

Cheers

I like the comp as presented. Super interaction shot and you did very well on the DOF.
The red in the open bill of the front bird attracts you attention and emphasizes the drama. I like.
