This Sand Hill Crane chick is hours old.
1/800 at F13 and ISO 400 EC -1
Sigma 50-500 at 500mm

A very tender moment. I am wondering howthis mage would look with a vertical cropping (removing the adult bird in the right side and keeping only the chick and the other adult). I agree with Martin that another round of USM for web presentation would be great. Thanks for sharing

Tender moment captured. Another vote for a bit more sharpening.
I think that the adult on the right does add to the story telling of the image, so would be inclined to keep it.
I am surprised that they tolerated you in this close. Are they really use to humans?

Randy -- the nest was off the side a busy Florida Road in a pond about 30 yards out. I heard the locals talkint about the being there last year. I never really saw more than 4 photographers at the site. When the chick could travel they did move off into the grasses.
