I had another opportunity to go out with Artie on Jim Neiger's boat. It was an amazing day on Jim's boat. He knows where to go and when to be there.

Head angle and eye contact look very nice. The bird looks a bit soft and it is washed out and too light on my monitor.

Denise, My first impression is the same as Alex's. I love the eye & it is a wonderful pose. Also, a very nice BG. On my, what sharp talons. Raptors are grand birds.

Thanks I agree it needs to be darker. But it is sharp.:)

Re-post is a big difference from the first , and much nicer. That eye and those talons are amazing.

Hi Denise,
Excellent pose and BG, I like the darkened version but at the original size, would also sharpen the head more/ Great capture, TFS :)

I like the repost better for the color but on my computer both are sharp. I wish I was there!

Super regal pose Denise, and you nailed your repost. Lovely colours in the BG too.

Love the image and love the great chances that we had with Jim Neiger that morning. Here is your post from Pane#4 with a round of Unsharp Mask at 150/.3. Let me know what you think :)

Wow Denise this kite is just fantastic. The pose of the bird and colors are much better in the repost and I agree about sharpness. I like the effect of wind in the feathers and the fantastic eye contact. Would love to photograph this species one day :)

A very fine post Denise. I agree with the above comments regarding the first post. The second post is much better with more detail and Artie's sharpening tops it off nicely too.

Juan, It's always good hearing from you. They are a wonderful species and Jim Neiger knows so much about them that you really feel as though you get a learning experience with the photography when you go out on his boat. I hope that you get a chance to photograph them someday.:)
Herb, I couldn't agree more. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.:)
