How about the polar bear picking up a Nikon D3s plus 600mm VR instead of a tripod? ;) That would have been an awesome sight. :D

The link doesn't mention whether the tripod was usable afterwards. One such incident had happened nearly a decade back. Two curious tiger cubs moved close to a jeep. So the photographer who had placed his tripod on the road, removed the camera and lens and kept the tripod on the road. Needless to say the cubs (10 months old) twisted the gitzo aluminium tripod beyond recognition.

Cheers,

Its a funny story. Nice pick up. From the picture, it appears that the camera is still on the head.

I'm glad that the bear was happy to play with a three-legged toy and not with one of the two-legged ones. :)

What's funny to me about this story is sounds like everyone quick released their cameras and left their tripods... with a polar bear charging

Cheers,
