One of the brightly colored day-fliers.

Should the blue areas in the BG stay or should they go? I can't make up my mind!

I like your composition and capture, in my opinion it would be better without the blue areas as I find them a bit distracting.

I like the blue areas, as it is a reminder to me as a viewer that the image is from outside. But I would like to see how it would look if they were toned down some since they are pulling my eye from the subject when they are as bright as they are here. Can you tone down the shininess on the leaf behind the moth?

great moth details.

Here's additional praise for your image plus another vote for attempting to either tone down or eliminate the blue areas you asked about.

I agree with the others - super details on the moth but the blue is pulling my eye away from him. I also think another crop idea would be to cut the image in half horizontally so the moth takes up more room in the frame.

Hi Ken, Very nice colors, composition, and details. I don't really mind the blue areas. White areas on the moth look like they might be a little hot maybe?

Hi Ken. I vote for toning down or cloning out the blue areas. I love the detail on the moth, and the little orange pantaloons on the legs!:)

Thanks to all. It seems that the blue should go or at least be toned down.
Jules, I'll give the other crop a try.

I think the angle of this little moth makes it difficult to see the details of its head. I do especially like the angle of the leaf it is perched on.
