Today, a sunny but cool day on the water (40's) went out whale watching. It was a fabulous day, only 30 people aboard and the whales and birds were great. 7 fin-back whales, over 12 humpback whales, including 2 which hung around the boat looking at us and wetting us with "blow" and 75 white-sided Atlantic porpoises among others

I like the composition and the contrast with the waves and water splashes. Nice work.

Hi Myer I would say it was a great day !!! I like the angle and overall look, whales are not easy to compose, like it all !!

You pretty much nailed exposure, spray and water. Would like to see bit more frame, more at top. But I should talk, these type of shots and underwater stuff is so difficult I don't even try :)

Thanks everyone for your comments. Whale watching and photography is great fun . I have been photographing the whales in the Stellwagon area for over 20 years and every trip is different. I like how you composed this Myer. The whale has room to swim into, the blowing increases the interest and dynamics of the image and the water color looks great.

Nope I did not notice that Myer. That's great - it worked perfect here.
