If you have been having difficulties viewing, trimming and converting 5D2 files in .MOV format, you might want to try a freeware program called SUPER. It is really freeware, no trial versions or limited functionality; of course, you may choose to donate, as with all freeware. The three main advantages I have seen are that it works well, that it is easy to understand and use, and it is powerful.
The homepage is http://www.erightsoft.com
The download page is http://www.erightsoft.com/56Kgl1.html
The correct download link at the bottom of the page is Download SUPER © setup file
And, the correct file to download is SUPERsetup.exe
I mention all this because navigating the layers of web pages to find the correct program is complicated, and there are many opportunities to download the wrong program. AVS Video Converter is the wrong program. If it starts to download, cancel and look again for SUPERsetup.exe.
So far, I have used it to play clips, which are smooth and sharp with no stutter, to trim clips which is simple to do, and to save the output in 1920x1080p .MPEG4. This is a format that can be uploaded for 1080HD playback on YouTube.
Thanks. Jim
