I love the bird and excellent sharpness. BG with the flowers is great too.
Just a tiny bit of head turn would be nice. I would try a vertical crop with this one
if you have more space top and bottom.

Although the image is very appealing, it does scream vertical to me! I suppose when a bird lands unexpectedly in front of you there is not always enough time to flip the camera sideways :-) I do wish for better separation between bill and perch. Adequate HA, and I like the hints of rufous showing.

P.S. I love the OOF flowers in the background!

James, Really nice sharp details and I agree a vertical would look nice as long as you don't lose too many of those beautiful BG flowers.:) Lovely image.

A very happy catch! I like the sharp details and the subtle colors.

Hope you don't mind my experimenting a little. I was trying out a more vertical crop when it occurred to me that the
bird might be pulled away from the background. Once I started down that road, I decided to bend the perch
away from the bill a little bit.

I really enjoy all your images, James.
I too vote for a vertical crop with some more space above and especially below if possible.
