A foggy morning in Rhode Island. This Sanderling was keeping up with the crowd, hopping on on leg, it had great balance. PS adjustment and crop.
Nikon D300s Sigma 150-500 HH
150-500mm @ 500mm
750mm (in 35mm film)
1/1600 sec, f/8
Mode: Manual
Metering: Multi-segment
ISO: 400
AF mode: AF-C
White balance: AUTO

Well exposed, detailed subject, looks sharp, but hard to see the head. Perhaps a bit underexposed. Head turn obviously not ideal. I like the angle and foreground stones/shells, but these elements are too distracting in the background. I think there's a bit of noise in the background as well. I think could also use a bit of CCW rotation.

I like the idea, but I would have shot the bird facing the camera...

The other day I ran into a similar Sanderling around here.
Initially it was resting with one leg tucked in and then started
hopping on one leg too. I did a search and apparently this is a
common behavior on these birds.
