One from a very windy feeder session today. Image taken on Canon EOS1d MKIIn 300mm F2.8 +1.4x 1/800 @ 5.6 1250ISO. As always comments very welcome.

The light is nice, except on the beak. Cropped a little tight for me. I would like to see this as a horizontal crop rather than vertical.

Quite a bit of noise in the BG. I would crop the top off the image roughly down to the small knob on the right-hand fork. Great bird and I think you have captured the colour very well.

The light on the bill looks fine here. You need to place your perches with cleaner backgorunds... And a nicer perch would help. Otherwise, for Glenn. (The BKGR noise etc. still needs more work...)

Thanks for the Comments and PS work guys. As yet I must admit I have not placed any perches I have just worked from a feeder in a small reserve. How do I clean up the BG noise then I have used NR in LR but it seems to be having little effect.

Ah, as you are not working in your backyard you might offer some images to the preserve managers in exchange for the right to do some pruning near the feeders and the right to put up some attractive perches.

Get in touch with Axel as far as the noise...
