This was taken on my previous trip to Kruger, last year Sept. I have always enjoyed capturing these guys, and I was lucky to get this guy in the open against a clear BG.

Great portrait Stuart,

DOF spot on, good eye contact with catchlight and a complimentary BKGR. I could imagine a tighter crop would also work.

Hey Stuart,
You've got some beautiful golden color in this portrait. I like the texture and DOF on the horns and you even got him to smile for you!

Stuart,

Absolutely marvelous, though common they make really good subjects, I agree with taking a little from the left hand side.

Beautifull image Mate. Lovely BG colours and the impi is tack sharp.

I like the colours. Eye contact is fine. The background is nicely diffused. A tight crop would work well here, including a vertical.

Cheers,

Beautiful portrait Stu. Love the soft light and detail. The open mouth is great and I like the comp. A vertical comp will also look great.:)

Hi Stuart, personally I feel a vertical crop would suit both in terms of space & content. Great detail, love the eye. ;)

Killer pose and razor sharp details. Even though the background is a rich red/gold, I would consider fading it to bring the subject out more dramatically.
