Oh good, I got the theme right.
These geese were coming into a field fairly far away and I thought it was a good opportunity to try 1/8 sec out. I left the noise in as I thought it added to the grainy scratchy feel of the panning. 50D, 500mm +1.4TC, 1/8sec. f/25, EC+1, ISO400.
This is certainly a good way to check on how clean the sensor is.

Hi Dave,
I certainly agree with your sensor comment :D
I love the blurred geese coming to land - stunning. I am not entirely sure about the grey stripe below the green, although I'm not sure what you could do about it.
Best,
Nicki

There must have been hundreds of these geese, Dave. What a sight it must have been:) A great panning to capture three so clearly and keep the blur. Like the noise left in too:)

This is VG Dave. Good panning and you have some sharp geese. I am wondering about a small crop but I am not sure if form the top or bottom. Anyways well done. Must be a cool sight.

Dave, what an amazing sight this must have been. I like the diagonal lines and the composition and I certainly agree about the sensor - I was shocked the first time I did a blur.

Dave, I love the sense of motion and you really captured the landing poses well. I like the colors and the amount of blur. If it were mine I might darken the white streak at the top to keep the attention on the main subject. Very nicely done.:)

Very nice blur, Paul. I especially like the detail in the landing geese, it makes them stand out nicely. :)
