Repost, cropped a little bit from original image and ran NR on the background only. The ISO 800 on the Canon EOS 7D takes so well to NR.

Very nice image Ryan. Awesome pose and great eye contact. The clean background lets the bird pop out. nicely done.

Cute little fella! I like the pose and perfect HA for this backside view. Perch looks good and is of a good thickness for this small bird. I wouldn't mind seeing your subject closer to the upper right corner just to add a bit more interest to the comp, and I would boost the saturation to the image as the colours seem faded (or you could alternatively use the sponge tool, smallish brush, set at around 8%, on the yellow wingbars and crown, and then a larger brush on reddish part of BG)

Oustanding portrait Ryan. Positives have been mentioned and I agree. I agree with Daniel that a sat boost would work. Also, you could open up the eye a little with the dodge tool.
