The feather in the beak puts it over the top. The BG is outstanding as is the detail in the bird.

Lovely composition and I agree with Joe. Love the feather in the beak. Beautiful perch and great pose and head turn. The beautiful BG just puts the icing on this stunning image.

I had to comment on this image because I just started using the same equipment and was happy to see the quality the 40D was able to help you abtain. A beautiful image without the $10k price. I thought it highlighted the talent needed for a great image, so thank you. The green BG also helped.

Lovely pose Chris with a good HA. Just enough foliage on the perch, and against a good BG.

Like the pose....love the background and the feather.

I'm assuming you used flash here as that's my only issue...the subject and the foliage below the beak come across as flashed relative to the rest of the image to my eyes?
