I did not have many opportunities to photograph winter finches in the winter. This was one of the few times that I found a Lapland Longspur. I made it in January after a snowstorm and wish the feet were more visible but the soft snow made it impossible.

Good low angle of capture, and you achieved a good HA too. Well done on the exposure of the snow. The invisible feet dont worry me, but on any other surface, it may have.

Wonderful low angle and excellent detail, ha and eye contact. The snow really sets it off.

Axel, shooting these birds in the snow with heavy tripod and gear must have been hard. I like the exposure here a lot. Good call on the aperture.
