105 mm macro, f/3.5.
I positioned this as I wanted it, but is the brown center a concern? It's part of the flower, but just wondered.
Thanks in advance.

Barbara, Just lovely. The colors are bright and beautiful. I like the texture that you added. The brown center adds depth to the image and looks natural. I would leave it.

Thanks, Paul and Denise. Just wondered if I took some structure out of it or something. I have a 'higher key' version that renders the center more green.

The brown center is no problem at all. Gorgeous texture and colors. The stem bothers be a bit. Great shot. :)

I think I'm with Anita on this - everything is lovely and exactly right - except the stem feels almost lost. Might add a little more depth to the brown to anchor it in the image? What beautiful work, though, Barbara!

Thanks Anita and Jules! I did darken the stem because the texture plus the depth of field blended it quite a bit. So, I'll darken it a bit more, then. That was one other question I still had.

Barbara: I have mixed feelings about the stem. I do like it better darkened. But, it is so straight in an image with such gorgeous curves. I didn't comment before on the fabulous tones of pink in the flower!! :)

Being straight, I guess it's a good reason not to feature it then - plus the texture keeps it from being stark. Don't know what else I can do with it. Thanks for your suggestion, Anita. There are several blossoms on my plant, so will keep an eye out for different comps.

Barbara:
I'm the only person who mentioned it. I assume you will go with what pleases your eye! :)

I think the stem is better darkened a bit so that was a good suggestion. It's small, muted and texturized, so it's probably minimally invasive! :D
